more detox

We are still doing the detox.

I can honestly say that I no longer crave a lot of the stuff that I did in the beginning. I think we will continue for another day or two, but we are going out to dinner ( a date) on Saturday, so I do not want to shock my system and end up getting sick from adding back everything all at once.

detox update

I am on day five of the detox. Here is a recap of how it has gone.

day one: I was hungry for most the day. I ate tons of fruit, but nothing seems to fill you up. All I could think about is what I can not have to eat. As I thought, I really miss my diet soda.

day two: I had a headache the whole day. Still rather hungy. I am happy to give up meat, I really don't care for it much anyway and do not eat a lot, but I do miss dairy. My husband has done it a bit different and is eating meat, but no red meat.

day three: I was finally not hungy all day long. It is a bit of a boring diet, but I am starting to feel much better.

day four: After a tough start I felt much better by day four. I seemed to feel more clear headed and not as tired. I also was able to run on days two and three but not four due to the weather (sans kids both days, a real treat).

day five: At the start I was not sure I would be able to make it through another day but by this point it seems possible. I think we will continue for a few more days.

detox

After reading a post on the Raising Foodies blog about a diet detox she did I became inspired to do one.

My husband has agreed to do it with me and today is the first day. I have cut out all sugar, flour, dairy, meat, and any processed food. Lots of fruit, veggies and beans for me.

I am going to miss my diet soda!

still...

...running, which is very hard to believe. I have been running at least four days a week for awhile now. I still have kids with me, but once no. four starts school I will be able to go by myself, a reat for sure!

running is sexy button by practical rabbit.

back to school

It is hard to believe but three out of four are back in school and no. four starts next week. The following week we will be engrossed in all of our fall activities like tennis (no. one and two), flag football (no. one), field hockey (no. two and three), soccer (no. one, three and four), brownies (no. two and three) along with cello lessons in school for no. four and language in school for no. one, two and three.

There is no such thing as free time for me around here.

critters

The kids found a sad little bird in the yard last week. They made it a nice little home and fed it. After two days they moved it into the trees and wished it luck.
