nyc

The kids had a half day today and since there were no activities after school I decided to take them into the city to meet my husband for dinner. We took the train up, which went better than it usually does. We then hit a few stores on our way down to his office. The kids and I hung out for a bit and then we went over to Crumbs and we let the kids each pick out a cupcake (they lasted the kids three days). Their cupcakes almost make me wish that I liked cake. We then all headed back towards mid-town for some dinner. We decided on Korean BBQ. We all really like it and we do not have a place around us that we can get it. There is a good Korean market, H Mart, that is near us and we sometimes go there for lunch. We hit the place that we went to last time. I have the name and once it is located I will post it, it is worth a stop if you are in the area.

darn dolls

The girls are now proud owners of american girl dolls. I thought this day would never come, but somehow my mother and godmother got them going on the dolls. Up until this point the two have never wanted or played with dolls and now they have very expensive dolls with very expensive accessories, good thing their grandmother treated!

The trip into NYC was a hit. We walked their poor little feet off. Since the girls got the dolls we took the boys up to FAO and they got to pick something. They are very, very spoiled by my parents, but I guess that is what grandparents are for.

Of couse I never made it to Kate's, but I am back in the city this Friday to take my son in to meet my husband so the two of them can go to a yankee game. I will take the other three to do something special. Then it is back in on Saturday morning (sans four children). We will head down to SOHO and I am going to try and shop (I usually wind up with nothing and my husband somehow gets a ton of stuff, go figure). Then we are off to the open in the evening and then a very late night dinner at Blue Ribbon. It is a much needed date, the last time we went out alone was back in December!

new york

We had a fun evening in NYC last night. I took the kids in and SJ met us at the path. We had the kids end of school dinner at a mexican place at the south street sea port. After it was a trip to SJ's office. The kids love seeing where he works. They also wanted to make sure he hung all of the pictures that they make for him. We looked at the amazing view for awhile and then made our way home.
