Another art club at our house this week. We finished up shirts that the girls had started a few weeks ago.

please touch
Last week the kids had two days off from school. It was to cold for the zoo, so I decided to take them to the Please Touch. It recently relocated to Memorial Hall, a beautiful building in West Philadelphia. I had not been to the Please Touch in years. I used to take the two older kids when they were very young, but I was not a huge fan of the old one. I was a little nervous that my oldest son would not have a good time, but they all loved it. It is huge and there are tons for the kids to do. It is the perfect winter activity.

more knitting
I recently decided to make a sweater for each one of the kids for next winter. I figure if I start now the chance that they will be done is pretty good.
I thought the Placket Sweater from Last Minute Knitted Gifts would be perfect. It seems like a pretty simple straight forward pattern. I have made some other things from the book with success. The pattern ranges in size and will cover the four different sizes that I need. I ordered fifteen skeins of Malabrigo yarn in four differnt colors. I can not wait to start!!

cookies
I just finished baking all the cookies for the teacher valentine gifts. I made chocolate and sugar cookie heart cut outs. I had cute plastic take out containers with hearts all over them and filled them with the bite-size cookies. The kids will make tags for them tonight and then we are all set to give them out tomorrow.

a day off
The kids had off from school yesterday. I decided to take advantage of the mild winter weather and headed into the city. We spent some time at the zoo. Not many of the animals were out, but it was fun being one family of only a handful at the zoo. After the zoo we had a park bench picnic in Rittenhouse Square. I LOVE mild winter days!
