two years

It has been two years since I started selling on etsy. The first year went well, but this past year was a disater. I think I spent more money trying to sell stuff than I actually made.

I pretty much gave up on trying to sell cards and some how this month, out of the blue, I sold seven packs. In full disclosure, four were to my sister-in-law (thanks!!), but I'll take what I can get.

Inspired a bit, I listed a few sets and will try to get some more up.

Feeling defeated by no sales for a long time I all but stopped making cards. I made some for moms to give as favors for our end of summer party, I made some for my sisters-in-law and brought them to the beach for coming to see you presents, and I made some for the teachers as back to school gifts for the kids to give. I gave up on etsy, I think I spent more to list stuff then I made.

A friend was over the other day to pick up something and wound up buying eight or nine packs of cards, Feeling a bit inspired, I thought I would give it another go, perhaps things have picked.

I will be updating the shop as much as I can over the next few weeks.

In an effort to make some spending money for a trip I have coming up, I have been trying to get my etsy shop back in order. I started putting some more items in the shop, and what do you know, I have had three sales in the past two days. If I can get more in, perhaps I will have a decent amount to bring with me.

I an attempt to earn some money, I have gotten back to work with the cards. I added a few new things to my etsy shop yesterday and plan to add more each day.

I have done a few custom orders the last few weeks. I have not made any note cards, but need to start again. I hve some new ideas for cards and I hope to get them done and listed on etsy soon.

one year

It has been one year since I first started selling on etsy. In that year I sold one hundred items through etsy, I guess that is decent. Maybe I should make a goal for the next year, two hundred sales.

After the rush of last minute card orders during the holiday I took a break from card making. I now need to get back to work. Next week I plan to clean up my etsy shop and try and get things moving again and start making cards again.

yarn

I have been knitting a lot lately. In the past month I have made six hats and two scarves. I have used up almost all the yarn that I had in my stash. For one reason or another I have had a hard time getting to the knitting store to get some new yarns and some new ideas for things to make, I am getting a bit tired of the hat and scarf thing.

I was just looking around on etsy and found some great hand spun and hand dyed yarns . I think etsy might be the way to go if I can't get to the store in the next week or so.

I have been working on a new card. I have about 20 or so packs done for the house party tomorrow. I am interested to see how they do. I will also try to get them posted in my etsy shop.
